our customer who we define as students, parents, guests, teachers, staff,
administration and fellow employees. We will accomplish this by committing to

In this way we will ensure that our facilities are clean and
maintained to our customer’s expectations. District facilities shall provide and maintain a focused
environment conducive to teaching and learning. We will provide a workable,
friendly place for people to improve and enhance their life skills.
ABOUT US:
The Operations Department is located in the HS/MS building
directly off the main gymnasium.
The Director of Operations is responsible for all facility
operations district wide, including custodial, maintenance, and grounds-keeping

There are nine full-time custodians, one of which is assigned
as groundskeepers.
Two custodians are on the day shift, three on second shift,
and three on third shift.
We have one part-time custodian for weekend events and
activities.
One maintenance person performs all maintenance
responsibilities.
Average years employed by NBAS is 10 years, with the highest
seniority being 32 yrs, and the lowest 1 yr.
Each day the custodial staff cleans up after 660 students
and 100 staff members, sweeps, vacuums, mops or scrubs 207,000 sq. ft. of floor
space district wide, and disinfects all hard surfaces such as desks, chairs,
tables, counters, door hardware and restroom fixtures.
Using a 1500 sq.ft. home as an example, 138 homes are
cleaned EVERY day by NBAS custodians. This is a whopping 17.25 homes cleaned
per day per custodian!
The Operations Department is not only involved in the daily
cleaning of the buildings, but is also a service-oriented organization setting
up for various activities and events, ranging from athletic events to plays,
concerts, graduations and our wonderful fall craft show.
The Operations Department is also responsible for all
building and grounds maintenance, football, baseball, soccer, softball and
practice field maintenance and all snow removal.
All district maintenance is performed by 1 district
maintenance person with assistance from licensed journeyman professionals as
needed.
NBAS Operations Department is committed to Green Cleaning
practices and products.
We are also committed to an aggressive lamp, ballast, and
battery recycling program.
Incandescent, quartz and HID lamps are replaced with cooler
running, longer-lasting Compact Fluorescent Lamps upon burn-out.
NBAS Operations Department will continue to use all
available Green/ sustainable product technology to lessen our environmental footprint
and impact.
