GOLD KEY AWARD WINNER....................DAN CHRISTIAN... On January 19th, Dan Christian entered his photography in the 2007 Regional scholastic art awards in South Bend.  He was competing against 18 different counties in NW Indiana and Lower SW Michigan region.  There were more than 1900 works of art from 54 different school entered, and only 450 pieces would make the show.  On Sunday,  January 21 when I went to pick up Dan’s rejected art pieces, I ended up coming home empty handed.  Not only did 4 out of five of his individual works win awards, but so did his portfolio.  Dan won 2 gold keys (only 90 awarded), and 2 honorable mentions for his individualentries.  One of his individual photography pieces also won the regional award for best photography.  His portfolio was selected to go to the National competition and his portfolio also won the Regional award for best portfolio as well. Dan’s 2 gold key winners and his portfolio have been sent to Carnegie Hall New York where he will take on the winners from the 79 other regional shows throughout the Nation.  Winners in the National show will be notified March 14th.
