The physical education program at New Buffalo Middle/High School encourages students to think about physical activity as a source of enjoyable and rewarding experiences that can be attained during school and throughout their lives. The curriculum and activities implemented at New Buffalo are designed to provide students with exciting, relevant and successful experiences that will encourage participation in physical activity for a lifetime.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and activities in efforts to provide a well-rounded P.E. experience. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in multiple fitness activities (strength training, circuit training, aerobics, yoga, dance, etc.) as a warm-ups and daily lessons. During the course, students will learn how to self assess their fitness performance levels during activity and use this information to attain fitness goals. In addition, students will perform exercise routines two times a week that will focus on different health/skill related physical fitness components.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and activities in efforts to provide a well-rounded P.E. experience. During the course, students will learn rules, strategies, and sport related skills to improve their overall performance and understanding. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in multiple fitness activities every Wednesday throughout the duration of the trimester.

Students will also learn and understand basic fitness concepts and assessments in efforts to improve their overall health and wellness. As an additional component, students will have the opportunity to utilize the equipment in the newly built aerobic room.

Students will also learn and understand basic fitness concepts and assessments in efforts to improve their overall health and wellness. As an additional component, students will have the opportunity to utilize the equipment in the newly built fitness center.
