If you received a message saying picture day for the elementary school is September 2, that is incorrect! Picture day for the elementary is September 11 with retakes scheduled for October 16. More information will be coming home soon about picture day.

We can't wait to see everyone at Back to School Night from 6:00-7:00 tonight! Please enter at door #1 by the cafeteria. There will be several community groups joining us. Stop by and visit them. If you complete the Back to School Night scavenger hunt, you could be entered to win a prize!

Our first New Buffalo Elementary Leadership Team meeting will be held next Wednesday, August 20, at 4:00 PM in the media center. This group was previously known as the New Buffalo Elementary PTO. Please join us to plan our parent committees and the many amazing family events we have coming such as the book fair at Back to School Night, the annual fundraiser, holiday shop, and end of year carnival. We hope you can make it!

I am also resharing the book fair sign up for Back to School Night. This is a BIG event and we need lots of volunteers! Even though you may see several names under each time slot we need more help. Please consider signing up if you can.

During our last week of school your child will be coming home with 6 free books to read and use to complete an array of reading activities. We recommend that students finish 2 bingos on their bingo board this Summer! All returning students that bring in their completed activities will receive an ice cream treat at Nancy’s in the Fall. The Puppetry Workshop with Jean Kuecher was a huge success! We will definitely have to do this again, because we had more students wanting to attend than we planned for! Thank you to all of the family members that attended this public puppet show. It was a wonderful thing to see these kids practice and memorize that short story in a short time!
